General conditions of participation
I. Description Dive Trophy
The Dive Trophy is Europe’s largest diving event and is organized by SSI International GmbH, Johann Hoellfritsch Str. 6, 90530 Wendelstein, Germany (“SSI”). The point accumulation period always covers the period from November 01 to September 30 of the respective Dive Trophy year. Entry is possible at any time, regardless of association membership. Their goal is to find the best diver in the German-speaking area. The participants qualify in three phases: The point collecting phase, the semi-final and the one-week final. In the two final competitions, the participants compete in two different locations. There are many material prizes to be won and the title of Dive Trophy Champion is at stake.
II. circle of participants
Every diver can participate, regardless of which association, who has reached the minimum age of 18 years and is resident in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Furthermore, he/she must not be an employee or a member of a diving center, diving school, diving store, specialized diving store or a sponsor (Robinson Club GmbH, SSI International GmbH, Tauchen, Scubapro, Mares, Chris Benz, Monte Mare and DiveAssure). Generally excluded from the competition are divers who are already professionals (including SSI Dive Guide, SSI Divemaster, SSI, Padi Divemaster, CMAS*** and higher) or are at a dive center (including honorary) at the start of the point accumulation period on November 1 of the respective year, as well as dependents of store owners and the sponsors. Registration after a Professional certification is not possible. By registering, the participant agrees in principle to receive e-mail information about the Dive Trophy from the Dive Trophy Team (represented by SSI International GmbH).
III. Competition Process
a. Registration through the dive store: Those who want to participate register with their logbook and brevet at a dive shop/dive school in the area. Any dive shop can do the registration quickly and easily via the Internet. b. Self-registration: Who wants to register himself, registers at https://my.divessi.com/login with his master data. By registering, the participant agrees in principle to receive e-mail information about the Dive Trophy from the Dive Trophy Team (represented by SSI International GmbH). ATTENTION! A personal e-mail address and photo of the respective participant must be used and deposited, as it is the personal access. Dive Center addresses or logos as pictures can lead to deletion of the account. Before the start of the competition a medical certificate (not older than half a year) must confirm the full diving ability. Participation does not require purchase of equipment or participation in activities, but additional points will be awarded through diving ventures and purchase of diving equipment. Selection of participants for the semi-finals will be based on the points principle. The point collecting phase always covers the period from November 01 to September 30 of the respective Dive Trophy year. In the personal log-in area on MySSI every participant can enter his acquired points himself. The acquired points have to be entered promptly, at the latest within 14 days, so that the ranking list of the current competition is up-to-date. The entries are logged, each entry must be able to be proven with the help of the diving logbook or an appropriate receipt. It should be noted that the points are entered no later than 14 days after the event in question. Later entries may be rejected and would therefore not be included in the ranking. The ranking list will be officially closed for all entries on 30.09. at 00:00. Entries after this date can no longer be considered for the ranking. The current Top 10 ranking will be published continuously on the internet. In the login area of the Dive Trophy site the top 100 divers will be displayed. Qualification and participation in a Dive Trophy Final is limited to a maximum of two. Participants agree that in case of a top ten placement they will be listed/published online with their picture, first and last name and their affiliated dive school. Special points will be awarded for late entry into the Dive Trophy. Participants joining after April 01 will receive a one-time 50 points. Participant registrations, after June 15 will receive 100 points once. Already registered participants are excluded! There are special points for experienced divers: For all dives over 100 there is a half point, e.g. at 120 TG 60 points, at 201 TG there are 100 points, but maximum 200 points. These points will be taken into account only at the time of registration. Each dive during the competition period (01.11. to 30.09.) is worth at least five points (see points list) and can also be entered later (but promptly). To qualify for dive points, an instructor (of any association) must have stamped the dive in question in the logbook. For dives with SSI Professionals (Dive Guide / Assistant Instructor or Instructor) and for training courses, the Pro Number of your SSI Professional will be requested. This must be entered in the appropriate field in the logbook. In the semi-final all participants from the Top 100 will compete against each other. From the top 200, an additional 20 wildcards will be drawn at random. For the semi-final, the points accumulated up to that point will be reset. During the semi-final at the end of October, points will be collected again in an indoor diving center by completing various tasks. The ten divers with the most points from the semi-finals will qualify for the finals at Robinson Club Soma Bay (Egypt). The Dive Trophy sponsors will cover the costs of flight, full board and diving for all finalists. Participants qualified for the final round will declare within 14 days that they are participating in the trip and that they are in possession of a valid passport. Should any of the participants fail to provide this confirmation, the trip will go to the next qualified participant. Cash payment of the trip value is not possible. The grand prize includes a stay for two at the ROBINSON Club Soma Bay, as well as a diving watch from Chris Benz. All other finalists will receive non-cash prizes from the sponsors. During the points collection phase, regular competitions with various non-cash prizes will be held on the Facebook fan page and in the trade magazine Tauchen. In the semifinals in the fall, there will be additional non-cash prizes from the co-sponsors worth approximately €15,000 to be won. For the 11 to 40 place winners there are diving watches, breathing regulators, diving computers, diving bags and diving insurances. a.
