BMW 220 – Technology and equipment

At launch, the BMW 220 coupe and convertible are available with a gasoline engine and a diesel engine. The four-cylinder gasoline engine with 2.0-liter displacement of the BMW 220i produces 184 hp. With 2.0-liter displacement, the 220d also achieves 184 hp. Starting with the 2016 model year, the gasoline engine will be revised with the same output. The diesel engine is modernized in 2014 and now produces 190 hp of power. The BMW 220 Active Tourer and Gran Tourer models are also available as the 220i and 220d. In addition, the 220d is available as an xDrive with all-wheel drive. The 220i engine in the Active Tourer produces 192 hp from 2.0 liters of displacement. The 220d engine with a displacement of 2.0 liters puts 190 hp on the roads. Depending on the year of manufacture and the engine version, an 8-speed automatic transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission are standard in the BMW 220. In addition to the standard equipment, BMW offers the models of the 2 Series in other equipment variants. Therefore, the BMW 220 used is available as Advantage, Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport. Standard equipment includes driving safety systems such as collision warning with city braking function, active pedestrian protection, attention assistant and intelligent emergency call system. Air conditioning, rain sensor and keyless engine start ensure a pleasant level of comfort. Advantage equipment also includes Park Distance Control, cruise control, 2-zone automatic climate control and automatic tailgate operation.
