I really don’t know much about whisky/whiskey! I’ve recently drunk for the first time a Jim Beam and then a Jameson. The Jameson has tasted better with (Has sweeter). Which whiskey/whiskey varieties still go in this direction (in the slightly sweeter)? Does anyone have some recommendations for me? A second question: is it a faux pas to drink a whiskey cola? Is that frowned upon among whiskey connoisseurs? Personally, I like the combination of cola and whiskey! Would just like to know if you can say that out loud in the whiskey scene?!!! And which whiskey fits particularly well? Are there certain? Thanks for answers and whiskey / whiskey suggestions

Marked as helpful by the questioner There is even whiskey-cola mix in a can. If the mix ratio suits you, why not. Nobody will mix a really good single malt whisky with cola. It’s also out of the question for you if you like mild or sweet whiskies. A good mild whiskey is the Irish Tullamore Dew. You can drink it straight, as a mix you should try ginger ale. As a sweet whisky I know only Dromburrie, which is one of my absolute favorite drinks. Whisky with honey. Not too expensive, too. Around 20 euros a bottle. But just cool. But you don’t need to mix it. If you like to mix, try with Cola Rum. The rum fits more to cola. I would recommend Irish Mist. This whiskey liqueur was first mentioned over 1000 years ago. Irish Mist is made from a carefully guarded recipe of soft and old whiskey, selected exotic herbs and a touch of honey. Connoisseurs of Irish Mist appreciate it neat or on ice. Check out the following video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UB3hePDMO-o Probably THE beginner’s malt. Whisky is a very extensive subject. Imagine, there are a thousand versch. Whiskys and each of it tastes no other the same. In my opinion, you should – especially in the beginning – keep away from anything that does not bear the designation “Single Malt” for the time being, because the cheap grains like to contain the well-known sharpness and “glue” characters. Also a tip: Especially at the beginning, make sure to spike the malt properly. So you prevent alcoholic sharpness in the finish (especially with >40%IGEN). If then rather bourbon, try george washington from reichelt or jim beam red stack so….so cheap stuff like jim beam and jack daniels you can mix. but better you should rather enjoy pure.
